Task:  Given class time and access to research materials, students will : 

1.    Create a Roman character as part of an interdisciplinary unit

2.    Create a correct works cited page

3.    Produce notes in response to teacher-guided questions

4.    Create a visual as part of an oral presentation to explain the research

5.   Dress as the Roman character when presenting research to class 

Process: 

A.   _______  (DUE MAY 9) Choose a Roman character you would like to know more about from the choices given. 

B.   _______  (DUE MAY 9) Choose a time period when your character lived. 

1.    Roman Republic (earlier part of Roman Civilization: 510-31 BCE)

2.    Roman Empire  (after death of Julius Caesar when Rome conquered many peoples: 31BCE to the Fall of Rome 476 ACE) 

C.   Research your topic, and fulfill the following requirements:

1.    _______  at least three sources - your social studies textbook, an electronic source, a library book, other. 

2.    _______ (DUE MAY 23) correct works cited page using “Citation Machine”

3.    _______ (DUE May 16) Note-taking booklet completed with bulleted notes

4.    _______ (DUE May 23) Written plan (speech, script, PowerPoint)

5.    _______ (DUE May 27) Costume- toga or other appropriate dress to represent your character
