A. Background:

You are corresponding with a French pen pal. You share personal information about yourself by creating a scrapbook in French.

B. Task:

1. General Requirements

a. Create a 5-page scrapbook.

b. Include illustrations on each page.

c. Use 8 ½ “ by 11” paper.

d. Number each page.

2. The scrapbook must include:

a. Title page (Mon petit cahier)

b. Introductory page (introduction of self, nationality, physical state, time of day)

c. Birthday page (date of birthday)

d. Feminine friend page (nationality of friend, physical description, personality and school)

e. Masculine friend page (nationality of friend, physical description, personality and school)

C. Purpose:

· To evaluate written communication skills in French

· To integrate previously learned vocabulary from preliminary chapter and chapter 1.

D. Audience:

Teacher and the class

Access Information: Procedures For The Task

A. Procedures:

Using textbook, classnotes and resources, write sentences in French based on the task requirements.
Edit for errots.
Peer edit before final copy.
Collect illustrations for various sources.
Create scrapbook.

B. Resources:

C. Requirements:

Use Microsoft Word to create scrapbook.

Change font, size, color of text.

Use correct accent marks.

Use "table" to create a calendar showing student's birthday

Insert graphics from clip art to illustrate seasons

Locate graphics and save to file under Student Work

Insert graphics as .jpegs

Create Works Cited for graphics found on website

Save document under "Student Work" - 2007-2008 - French - Period 2 or 3.
