PowerPoint Presentation

Step 1:

Choose a topic that reflects something you are interested in and are willing to teach the class about.

Step 2:

Research this topic in the Media Center using any of the encyclopedias available to you.  As you research, try to answer the guiding questions below:

  • What is something new you learned about this topic?
  • Why would other people want to know about this topic?
  • How does knowing more about this topic help you to like or understand the topic better?

Step 3:

Create a PowerPoint presentation for this topic following the guidelines below.:

  • 4 to 8 slides
  • Each slide has a different transition
  • Slides highlight the most important points but do not include everything you will tell the class.  (In other words, you have found more information than could be included in the slide show.  You will not read from the slides.)
  • Presentation is 5 to 7 minutes

Step 4:

Print out a copy of the slideshow in handout format.  Hand this in when you present your Power Point.

 You will have:

  • 3 class periods to research
  • 4 class periods to complete the PowerPoint presentation
  • 5 class periods to present this to your class
