6TH GRADESTUDENTS
MAKE A FOOTSTOOL. THE PROJECT IS DIFFICULT TO MAKE AND
UTILIZES MANY TOOLS AND MACHINES. IN ORDER TO INSURE
STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY, THE ASSEMBLY PROCESS IS CAREFULLY SCRUTINIZED.
INDIVIDUALITY AND OWNERSHIP IS ENCOURAGED VIA A VARIETY OF
DECORATIVE TECHNIQUES. PHOTOS HIGHLIGHT SOME OF THE
DECORATIVE TECHNIQUES EMPLOYED.
7TH GRADE
STUDENTS START OFF WITH A MITERED ACRYLIC WOODEN FRAMED PLATFORM.
THIS IS A MODULAR APPROACH, WITH THE PLATFORM BECOMING EITHER A
SERVING TRAY, HOCKEY BOARD GAME OR BED TRAY. THIS
PROJECT CHALLENGES THE STUDENTS ABILITY WITH SPATIAL REASONING.
AS THE PICTURES ATTEST,
MANY VARIED FORMS OF DECORATING ARE ENCOURAGED.
8TH GRADE
THE FOLDING TABLE IS A VERY COMPLICATED PROJECT. IT IS
IMPERATIVE THAT ALL PIECES HAVE THEIR HOLES IN THE CORRECT LOCATION,
OR IT WILL NOT ASSEMBLE OR FOLD PROPERLY. ONCE AGAIN THE STUDENTS
ARE ENCOURAGED TO EXPRESS THEMSELVES VIA VARIOUS DECORATIVE
TECHNIQUES. PHOTOS
DEMONSTRATE THE FORMS OF DECORATION AND THE VARIETY.
