Create
Column Headings: A

Format
the columns “Price per Gallon” and “Gas Costs” as Currency

Enter
tour information in the “City to City" column. Enter the
distance between the cities in the miles column using
Geobytes.

Find the
cost of gas in the city from which you are leaving using
Gasbuddy
and enter it in your spreadsheet.

The
formula for Gas Costs is the miles traveled divided by
miles per gallon (the bus gets 8 miles to the gallon); multiply by the Price per
Gallon.

For the first leg of your
tour you would click in cell D2 and enter the formula
=(B2/8*C2)

You do not need to
re-enter a formula for each leg of the trip’s Gas Costs.
Use the Fill Function demonstrated in class
The Gas Costs are automatically calculated for each leg of
your trip.

Find the Total Gas Cost
for your entire tour by
Summing the column.

Save your Mileage spreadsheet as part of a workbook in your group’s
folder under Student Work. Name the workbook "Income
and Expense Workbook followed by your first name, last initial".
Notice the tabs on the bottom of the screen are called "Sheet 1,
Sheet 2 and Sheet 3".

Right click on "Sheet 1" and rename it
"Mileage followed by your first name and last initial".
