TASK:
Create a
newspaper or brochure focusing on your invention and the inventor
who created it.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Download Student
Checklist, save to your folder naming it as follows:
Inventor or Invention followed by first name of student.
- Use Student Checklist to stay on schedule.
- Using Inspiration, organize your information into
2 webs (1 for Invention and 1 for Inventor)..
- Review Sample
Inventor and
Invention Webs (also located under Student Work).
- Using Microsoft
Publisher, create a newspaper or brochure. Some
suggestions are:
- feature articles
- headlines
- advertisements
- comic strips
- obituaries
- images
- "Op Ed" (opinions)
Be creative with Publisher, using a
template if you choose.
- Include the following information
in both the web and the final product::
- Invention:
- In what year was
your invention invented?
- What does your
invention do? (Explain how it
works in simple terms.)
- Who uses it?
- Where can it be
found?
- Is it currently
important to people and why?
- Has this invention been improved upon today?
If yes, how?
- Where would you be without your invention?
- Inventor:
- What is his/her
name?
- Where was your
inventor born?
- Include some
interesting information about your inventor:
- Where was your
inventor educated, if available?
- Describe your
inventor's family/background.
- Describe the time period in which your inventor
lived.
- Did your
inventor invent more than one thing?
- Is your inventor
still alive? If not, when did he or she die?
PROCESS AND PRODUCT:
Students will:
- conduct research
- take notes using
the "Notes" page in the Media Center
- complete 2 webs in Inspiration
(invention and inventor)
- create a final product
using Publisher
