Purpose:
Students will include language in their study of Native American culture,
enriching their school experience and their understanding of Native
American tribes and nations as complete and continuous cultures.
Task: Students will create a "phrasebook"
for their tribe or nation.
Requirements:
Each group (3-4) will create a booklet of
phrases or words used by their indigenous tribe or nation.
Suggested topics are food, family, shelter,
ceremony, nature, tools.
Each phrasebook is to be illustrated and
decorated with appropriate motifs.
