American Masterpieces, Getting to Know a
Painting at the Metropolitan Museum of Art
Project Purpose:
To use the visual arts terms from our curriculum to analyze a work of
art, in particular, selected American paintings at the Met. |

CORE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Students will:
-
Use the HKMS website to link to the Metropolitan Museum of Art website.

Choose a work from
selection of American paintings at the Met.
-
Analyze the painting,
observing the organization of the composition, the color, the space, and
the mood conveyed by the artist.
-
Write a narrative about
the work, using terms from the Visual Arts Curriculum for the fifth
year.

Word to write a narrative

Word Tools (Spelling and Grammar) to review and revise
